Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Macario Corpuz Jr. has provided care for patients of all ages—from newborns to geriatrics—for more than a decade. He currently practices at HealthyU, having previously served at the Sterling location of Saint Vincent Medical Group before the practice was acquired.
As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Corpuz believes it is important to involve the entire family in making pertinent decisions regarding an individual patient’s health. He is dedicated to providing appropriate and compassionate care, whether for wellness and preventive services or the treatment of acute conditions and chronic diseases.
Dr. Corpuz continues to update his medical education (CME) to stay current with advances and trends in medicine so he can provide the best possible care. “It is imperative that the patient is presented with all the available options for the management of their illness, based on recent, unbiased evidence-based medicine. In the end, it’s the patient who makes the final decision about how their care is managed, with respect to their values, beliefs, and culture.”
As a physician, Dr. Corpuz strives to be a healthy role model for his patients and helps them make healthy choices to be proactive about their wellness. “It is my responsibility to set a good example of a health-conscious lifestyle, including proper diet and exercise. I want to inspire my patients to live a healthy life so that they may enjoy their older years and influence their family members to do the same.”
Fluent in Tagalog, Dr. Corpuz earned his medical degree from Far Eastern University Institute of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. He completed his residency at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, New York. A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Corpuz was recognized with their Fellow Award in 2006. He also completed a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.
