3D Mammograms in Gilbert, Arizona

HealthyU Clinics offers convenient 3D mammography at our Gilbert Pecos Rd location, using advanced breast imaging technology to provide a more detailed view of breast tissue. Unlike traditional 2D mammography, 3D mammography captures multiple images from different angles, creating a layered view that can help radiologists identify areas that may need a closer look.

We enhance this advanced imaging with AI-assisted interpretation, which provides an additional analysis of mammogram images and helps highlight potentially suspicious areas for the radiologist to review. By combining 3D mammography, radiologist expertise and AI-assisted technology, HealthyU Clinics provides a comprehensive approach to breast cancer screening focused on supporting early detection and confident care.

A Clearer Look at Breast Health

3D mammography, also known as digital breast tomosynthesis, captures multiple images of the breast from different angles to create a detailed, layered view of breast tissue.

Compared with conventional digital mammography, research reviewed by the American College of Radiology has generally found that 3D mammography increases cancer detection rates and reduces recall rates.

More detailed imaging
View breast tissue in thin layers rather than relying only on traditional 2D images.

Improved cancer detection
3D mammography can help radiologists identify cancers that may be harder to see on conventional mammograms.

Fewer callbacks
Studies have also found lower recall rates with 3D mammography compared with digital mammography alone.

Who Should Get a Mammogram?

For most women, breast cancer screening should begin at age 40. Regular mammograms can help find breast cancer before symptoms appear, when it may be easier to treat.

You may be due for a mammogram if:

  • You’re 40 or older. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends screening mammography every two years for women ages 40–74, while some medical organizations recommend annual screening beginning at age 40.
  • You haven’t had a mammogram recently. If you’re unsure when your last screening was or when you’re due, talk with your healthcare provider about the screening schedule that’s right for you.
  • You have a family history of breast cancer. Your individual risk may affect when you should begin screening and whether you need additional testing.
  • You have dense breasts. Dense breast tissue can make cancers more difficult to see on a mammogram and is also associated with increased breast cancer risk. Your provider can help determine whether additional screening should be considered.
  • You’re at higher risk for breast cancer. Certain genetic mutations, a strong family history, previous chest radiation at a young age and other factors may mean screening should begin before age 40 or include additional imaging. The ACR recommends breast cancer risk assessment by age 25 to identify people who may benefit from earlier screening.

3D Mammography + AI: An Extra Set of Eyes

At HealthyU Clinics, advanced imaging doesn’t stop with your 3D mammogram. We also offer SecondReadAI™, an artificial intelligence tool designed to assist radiologists by analyzing mammogram images and highlighting areas that may warrant additional attention.

Leveraging the power of AI (Artificial Intelligence), SecondReadAI™, a computer-based artificial intelligence tool, reviews and analyzes your breasts in a way that a human cannot. It looks at the images pixel by pixel and can detect suspicious breast tissue that might be obscured by dense tissue or that is too small for the human eye to detect. It is proven in clinical studies to help radiologists increase early-stage cancer detection by as much as 15%* and confidently reduce the number of unnecessary callbacks.

  • 40% of breast cancer patients can be diagnosed earlier.**
  • The five-year survival rate of cancer detected early (Stage 1,2) is 96%***

Think of it as a second set of eyes using the best medical technology to provide a more detailed analysis of your mammogram. You will have peace of mind that every detail is analyzed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a mammogram take?

A mammogram typically takes about 20–30 minutes, although the imaging itself only takes a few minutes for each breast.

You may feel pressure or brief discomfort while your breast is compressed for imaging. The compression only lasts a few seconds at a time and is important for capturing clear images.

Consider wearing a two-piece outfit, since you’ll need to undress from the waist up. Avoid using deodorant, lotion, powder or perfume on your breasts or underarms on the day of your mammogram, as these products can interfere with the images.

Yes. Women with breast implants can and should still receive recommended mammograms. Be sure to tell the technologist about your implants so they can use specialized techniques to capture the necessary images.

Your mammogram images will be reviewed by a radiologist, and you’ll be notified when your results are available. If additional imaging is recommended, our team will provide information about next steps.

Referral requirements can vary depending on the type of mammogram and your insurance plan. Contact HealthyU Clinics or your insurance provider before scheduling if you’re unsure whether a referral or order is required.
